As a core member of the Instructional Innovation and Technology (IIT) Leadership Team provides strategic direction to the Office of the Chief Innovation Officer (OCIO) including oversight of the IT Budget and Financials, IT Administrative Management, Facilities and Space Planning, IT Asset Management, Project Management Office and Business Services Office and oversight of over 100 IT technology initiatives each year. Responsible for the management and direction of the Program Management Office (PMO), and the Business Services Office which ensures all IT initiatives meet University goals and fiduciary standards.


Direct 14 FTE’s covering project and portfolio management (PMO), finance, operations, procurement and asset management including development, implementation, and continuous improvement of project management methodologies, standards, and tools.

Key Accomplishments:

  • Invested over $30 million in year-end funding in numerous strategic initiatives including multi-factor authentication, cyber-security enhancements, network infrastructure enhancements, development of online degree programs, and innovative classroom designs over the past 5 years.

  • Provided strategic oversight to approximately 1000 IT projects over the past 9 years, including creation and facilitation of monthly Program Reviews, monthly and quarterly Portfolio RoadMap Reviews, End of Year project audits and through weekly meetings with CIO.

  • Supervised the IT Business Services Officer and ensured compliance with all departmental, university, and USG policies in procurement, reimbursements, and financial expenditures approvals.

  • Reviewed and funded departmental maintenance initiatives, capital improvement projects, and renovations for non-academic spaces.

  • Developed best practices and controls to ensure the effective evaluation, selection, prioritization, and funding of competing IT investments.

  • Launched programs to redefine our IT roles and responsibilities to better align to the market and ensure that we continue to hire staff that fosters the culture and mission of the University.

  • Implemented a training and mentoring program for IT Project Management Office and taught Project Management level through a partnership with GSU HR Organizational Development Office.

  • Led programs to coach and mentor employees to achieve peak performance levels while encouraging professional development and progression throughout their career tenures.

  • Created the IIT Academy the first-ever, university-wide, professional development program specifically designed for all levels of IT staff.

  • Created and chaired the IT IDEA Committee (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accountability Committee) to visibly recognize and communicate diversity and inclusion best practices and achievements throughout the division.

Georgia Equality’s mission is to advance fairness, safety and opportunity for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities and our allies throughout the state of Georgia. Georgia Equality is comprised of two separate corporate entities: Georgia Equality, Inc. and the Equality Foundation of Georgia, Inc. My focus as Head of Governance was on the following areas:

  • Recruitment- definition and identification of the key characteristics desired for future members.

  • Compliance – ensured that the Boards fulfilled their legal, ethical, operational, and external duties.

  • Policy and Strategy - revision and update of policies, bylaws, terms of office, SOPs and the strategic plan for the GE Board.

  • Outreach- identification of opportunities to strengthen and evolve the board’s effectiveness.

PMO Project and Program Management Experience – Private Sector

PROGRAM MANAGER MOBILE AND EMERGING PLATFORMS – THE HOME DEPOT – Atlanta, GA – Feb 2010 – Sept 2011

Responsible for supervision, mentoring and training a staff of over 20 contractual Project Managers. Responsible for project leadership for all matrixed team members including Business Analysts, Quality Assurance Analysts, and Developers for HomeDepot.com projects. Responsible for adherence to Project Management methodologies, PM tools and templates for HD.COM.

Key Accomplishments:

  • Successful delivery of the HomeDepot.com Mobile Application which resulted in a 340% increase in visits on mobile devices.

  • Successful delivery of the $20M WebSphere Commerce Upgrade project with a project team of over 100 matrixed resources both onshore and offshore.

  • Implementation of Agile/Scrum software delivery framework for HomeDepot.com projects which laid the groundwork for a nimble approach to delivering web development projects.

  • Achieved less than 5% variance of schedule and budget on all projects including HD.COM Site Redesign, HD.COM

Key Accomplishments:

  • Managed the development, roll-out, and maintenance of over 25 complex Enterprise Release initiatives in a strong J2EE/Java environment for supply chain/logistics customer-facing web portal - UPS.com.

  • Managed redesign of large online retail website using an Enterprise Content Management system.
